Anyone with a ball joint front end, tired of the four lug look and wanting to run the more traditional wide fives? These will allow you to bolt a wide five link pin front end to the IRS pan AND move the wheels forward an inch to sit them better in the wheel wells.

Not too terrible at all . . .
You were quietly going insane, Mickey.
Lane was fixated on red wheels, and you had you sights firmly set on spending your vast fortune on a new undercarriage.
It would have been a crime to distract you with such simplicity -- and we wouldn't have been nearly as entertained since.
Look on the bright side, though! Now, when you decide to convert the 911's suspension to ball joints, you'll have a tailor-made wide-five adaptation for it!
Hey -- double-scoop of joy -- no more Scion!

I'm waiting for someone that's running a linkpin front end to chime in and tell us how bad they ride and handle compared to a ball joint beam.
Going from a ball joint beam to a link pin beam just to run wide 5 wheels seems a bit extreem to me.
Plus have you ever tried to change link pin bushings / shims and get the camber set where you want? Not easy.
Mickey,
The set up you have is the right way to go. If you want to move wheels forward in the wheel wells, splice a new pan head in or make spacer blocks. Either way, you'll have to compensate somewhat for the pitman arm that now hits the frame head or somewhere it never did before.
Greg
The ORIGINAL 356 Porsches all ran with link pin front suspension (VW trailing arm to be exact) for the entire manufacturing life of the model. You have only to visit
The 356 Registry Forum to learn of how superior the ride and handling qualities of the genuine article are as compared to a "modern" Speedster replica.

Holster those Gats you idiots, I'm making a joke here . . .
I'm getting ready to refinish a half--- built CMC and after reading about problems with frame cutting instructions. I noticed that the front wheels do set a little back into the wheelwell. It has a ball joint front end. Is there any kind of shim to put between the frame and front tubes? Yes, I know the steering shaft and brake lines may also have to be modified. thanks, Chuck in Michigan
