After adjusting my linkage I thought I would take the speedster for a test run. During the run I heard a "clanging" sound coming from the engine compartment. Upon inspection I found a wrench which I forgot to remove. DUMB!!!!!!!!! The wrench was rubbing up against the fan belt. Now the red light on my dash display is on. Anyone know what may have occured? Any solutions? Thx. Tim.

I assume you mean the alternator warning light. Maybe the wrench shorted something - check your fuses. Depending on what may have shorted it's possible you blew one of the diodes in the alternator. Check the voltage at the battery with a VOM meter with the engine running for 12.5 to 13.4 volts, then use the meter to check for the same running voltage at the alternator to ground (the big red wire to the alternator case). If you don't have the specified voltage at 1,500 to 2,000 RPM you'll have to track down the problem or have a competent shop fix it.
