Should I stay with -6 AN fittings and hoses or move to -8 on my remote oil filter and oil cooler setup ?

My current setup has -6 An fittings coming off of the oil pump housing and running throughout.  Remote Oil cooler will be mounted in the rear driver wheel well and the oil filter adapter plate will be mounted at the bumper mount.

If I upgrade to -8 hoses would it be oh just to use adapters to go from -6 to -8 fittings on my oil pump housing and oil filter adapter?  Or should it doesn't matter and I should just stay with the -6 throughout.

Someone with a greater grasp of fluid dynamics can explain this far better than I, but -6 to -8 adapter is basically a -6 line in every way except volume.

And I’d advise XRP fittings, vs the standard fare from most distributors.

AN6 is a good size for EFI fuel lines, not oil.

AN8 is 1/2" diameter inside(8/16"). As Stan and Al said, adaptors are not going to cut it.

Additionally, if you have a "full flow" pump, get rid of it. They are full of restrictions. They do filter all of your oil, but are not doing you any favors with regards to flow. If you really want to full-flow an engine, the main oil gallery must be drilled and tapped.

If your cooler is in the back, AN8 is a good size.

If you pipe the cooler to the front of the car and back, use AN10(10/16", or 5/8" I.D.).
