Remote Oil Filter Idea

Is it full flow or bypass filtering?  What size fittings?  If they're too small there won't be enough flow for proper pressure to the bearings- the full flow system needs minimum AN8.  Will that filter/fittings pass 3 gpm?  And remember, oil in a filter and lines does not equate to more oil available at the pick up; that's done by adding a deep sump or dry sumping the engine.

Good questions I'll be asking tomorrow. There's no dimensions on the filter cannister,* but CB lists 1/4-16 X 1/2" hose, which is kind of confusing. 1/2" hose is AN-8, but a 1/4" fitting isn't.

AFAIK, it's a full flow, but I'm concerned what that does with a thermostat inline.

* I have a pretty good relationship with Perf-Form, and they're a relatively small company. When I ask them about flow rate I'm going to ask if I can get one without fittings and make my own. I'd rather the top fitting be in the top of the cannister with a 90° fitting and the bottom one be a straight fitting. That way they'll be oriented properly. And I can make them any size I want.  I intend to mount it where an original oil tank goes, with the hoses running along the torsion bar tube. 

Here's their spiel. I made a mistake in my OP. Cellulose is what regular filters are.  Perf-Form uses what they call "enhanced glass microfiber" media.

If this is a picture of the actual 1/4"NPT-AN8 fitting, it should be fine. The passage in the 1/4" side looks as big or bigger than the AN8 side.

I'd need to lift my car an inch or so before I could even think about adding a deep sump.  I'd be afraid of tearing it off, as often as I bottom out now.

i had a ss oil filter on one of my speedies, it was all ss and the filter  itself was ss, microfine holes, just rinse to clean, never had a problem..

Yeah, those Scotts filters are cool. I have a couple for my bikes, Triumph and BMW. But the Perf-Form filters allegedly filter to 4 microns. 

The one on your old Speedster was probably an Oberg.  They're pretty good.
