I am looking for a supplier of a replica exhaust system that emulates the 4-pipe exhaust used on original speedsters that will fit a VW engine. Apparently there was a manufacturer in Japan (I believe they were called "Flat Four") that had a version of the system, but they do not supply it any longer. Is there another manufacturer that supplies these?

Have you tried Mooneyes, the Flat Four distributor in the USA?
Phone 800-547-5422 or check them out at www.mooneyes.com

Sorry, I wasn't sure if the categories were cross referenced. Rookie user.

Jacob, if you search through the files you will see a mpeg of the flat four exhaust on my speedster. While it looks good it was very restrictive and I took it off post haste and put a kymco thing header on and have been happy with that set up. So unless you have a stock engine don't bother with the flat four exhaust.
A system you may want to look at is at www.customspeedparts.com (super competition exhaust system). It exits out the back with two exhaust pipes. Not cheap, thought. Where do you live?

I'm kind of on again off again on this site as well. I do not have the net dialed period. But here is two cents. My car had a single stinger off the back when I got it. I'm sure it was good performance
but not the look nor noise my wife was hoping for. I went to Bow-Wow
auto parts out in Seattle big VW parts house. They set me up with a classy look pipe that appears as original. The cost was reasonable I think under 150.00 if I rememeber. I sold the stinger to a guy for 70.00. I do not know what horsepower I lost but the car still runs great. And it does not look like a baja.
