One man shops can be your saviour in many trades.

“Savior” is a pretty big word, but a one-man-show is a good deal for everyone involved (the “one man” as well).

Let’s just say I have had prior BMW mechanics who left the big dealer started their own shop and did very well while we got more reasonable rates....but then my car was an 1987  and little tech so long as the manuf so not leave the amall guy in the cold like Tesla who think they can fix everything from afar

overall I like a small business guy

Maybe there's actually two up here, Ray. Some of you may be aware that my car got wrecked pretty badly back in Sept. of 2014. In a nutshell, I got four estimates. A well known Corvette fixer from the West end said $10K and he wanted the car for 6 months.

Any shop that wants only X dollars but won't get your car back to you for 6 months is really saying that they won't look at your car for 5 of them .....

Not sure and I don't know the whole process but he said the car needed to have time to completely cure slowly before paint or we risk the chance of spider cracks etc. BS...maybe, I just don't know.

I had not read your post at first David, the only thing I can say is that IM cures their cars under a UV treatment I believe, otherwise the body moves as it cures.

So hence the body shop guy might have been trying to wait but then no UV light treatment means a slow rather than a fast cure... and thus he waits how many weeks, months.  I am not sure how important it is for your car body as FG gets old it has to cure by itself I would think.. Alan the watch builder should know more.

Any accident is a frustrating thing.

I have to say that it is hard to get good service anywhere these days so since my last paint work was quite a few years ago you guys must be right on this one  Gee that was hard to admit.. No it wasn't

I have a bit more time these days to do research for things, I might like to do on my roadster... FWIW, on my last IM I did a lot of research finding custom parts for my car that IM found interesting enough and are now offering those as part of their builds.  I am sure others have done the same as they built their cars.

Saw your spyder at Carlisle it is awesome looking Danny.
