And if you’re reading that KM/H speedo at face value, then 105 KM/His about 63 mph.  I have a kilometer speedo, too, and you learn to multiply what it says by 6 to get mph - that gets you in the ballpark, anyway.

Interstate speeds around here have me cruising at 120 - 140 KM/H to keep up.

Ummmmmm, no ....

I'm not entirely sure what you were really trying to say but I think you meant multilply by .6 (point 6, decimal 6 etc)

Having grown up with mph before they converted us to metric in my teens, I don't even think about it and know that 60 mph = 100 kph, 160 kph = 100 mph approximately.

The odd thing is, even the younger generation know how tall they are in feet and inches not cm, and their weight in pounds not kg. The grocery ads still say X = so much per pound as the dominant advertising. Temperature they quote in C or both.

Almost all speeedmeters show both mph and kph but the odometer is km

Well....there IS that little issue.......but we were talking speed, not temperature. Let's just agree that my "0" temp may not be your "0'" temp, but can we agree that "0" speed is always "0" speed?

But still feels faster in a convertible if the wind is blowing

Maybe, but we’re never AT zero.  The earth is rotating at 1000 mph at the equator, and it is revolving around the sun even faster.  Then there’s the rotation of the galaxy and the movement of the galaxy through space!!!  WHERE’S IT GONNA END, MAN!!!!

I’m ok. I’m ok.  Whew!  Where’s the wine?

Makes you wonder if the speed of light is actually constant, doesn't it?  Is there a Doppler effect with light?

The only difference I know in regards to the speed of light is that it isn't the same for everyone. For some the light comes on rather quickly and for some the light is dim or it never comes on. Those are the people I deal with.

Yes, that is how the astronomers can tell if stars are moving toward or away, the color shift. If it shifts toward blue or red, it's moving away or toward us, but I can't remember which way is which color shift.

Perhaps we should discuss Thermal Dynamics for a while.

That, I know something about. Still, let's not.

Anyhow... the Bears, huh? I wish Drewek posted here more so I could rub his nose in the Packers dismal season. Also, bay-area guys-- thanks for Khalil Mack. He's just what the Dr. ordered.

@Stan Galat it has made our Sundays fun again.
