Seat Belts

Hello everybody, I'm thinking to install the simpson Lap Belt into my spyder (2 points seats), but it's being hard to my to define 2 issues: the size (55" or 62") and if it must be the normal one or the F/X one. I could see in some pictures that most of you are using this kind of seat belts, Could you please help me? Thanks, Luiz

If you go to photos and our file "Laneco" the first picture shows our seatbelts. They are 3" wide RCI belts. They anchor right where the firewall meets the floorpan and have quite a bit of adjustment left even with us fatties.

IIRC the 55" belts will fit most people of moderate weight. If you expect occupants with larger girth the longer belts will be in order.

Last year a friend of mine invited me to drive the Spyder in a parade. He was the passenger but could not get the belt around his rather, ahem, expanded midsection. It's a good thing the parade pace was no faster than 5 mph. The 55" belts have plenty of length for me, but would not fit him. The belts and shoulder harness are 3" Simpson brand with the lever type latch as used in the '50s and '60s race cars.

You can get those belts from www.summitracing.com/
They sell them in different colors also. The whole catalog is online. I've been buyin from summit for 5 or 6 years and never had any problems with them.

Oops, sorry Jim, one more thing. The belts we have are actually part of a whole harness, I just didn't put the shoulder portion on as we do not have a roll bar (yet).
