Sick of my current colour............time for a re-spray....lol.

Yup, it's that time of the year again. I don't like my off white, cream beige ivory, so I've decided to do a respray in the new year.

This week I was looking at the Kustomcoachwerks site and saw John Jones's dove blue pre-A that I've seen a million times before...........that was until I was thinking about that colour on my car. This got me thinking, are there any other colours out there that I haven't considered yet?

Interior colour isn't important as luckily I've held off on re-covering the seats until I've decided what i want to do.

Any adivce?

I'm a stock looking car guy, so no pearls or powdered rhino horned flip flop paints please. Pics also if possible...........on a speedy.

SO (Jim Chichi) on East Coast US here has a gorgeous stone grey Speedster. It's a mix of grey with pea green mixed in. I'll try to find his profile for a photo (my attached camera photo is bad). "Steingrau" (Stone Grey 5710) a " Special" color used by Porsche from 1957 to 1959.

Gary - one of my favorite car colors in this site is on MangoSmoothie's car. I'm not sure what it's called but to me it looks like a shade of green. Decisions, decisions!

Interesting that just about any color goes with gray, it's the true neutral.

Here's what I'd like to do if I ever go for a color change. Interior either in black with red piping, or oxblood with cream piping.

Michael B's car, (see previous post above) looks to me like Meissen Blue, there is a similar example of the color on the JPS website, and it is a great color, particularly with his tan interior. His wheels are the same color and the car is the epitome of 1957 cool. I was looking around for Beaver Cleaver and Wally.

If you want a color that brings back the time, that might not be a bad choice.

My Dad had a salmon pink and white Plymouth Savoy in 57. Push button automatic tranny and salmon and black interior. Like driving around a sofa.

I would not, under any circumstances, use a color which could be used to upholster a stool in a diner. It's probably 'period correct,' and I'm sure it looks good in coffee table books about nostalgic Americana, but let's be honest.
We're talking about Carnation Pink, Coral Green, Seafoam Blue, Does Not Appear In Nature Red ... Who wants to vomit every time they go out to the garage for a beer?

Besides, since my Gulf Oil scheme got stolen by some jackass with a Vespa, I can't have somebody on the SOC inadvertently steal my next great scheme.

The epitome of a wrinkle ranch! Great pic that just proves that time can, and usually does catch up with everybody. I have combatted wrinkles by adding fat that simply fills them all in. 10 more pounds and I explode.

Wow, didn't expect this to get that much response.

Firstly reason for doing this are, I've done a LOT of mod work on things on the body and it's got knicked and marked and is looking a tad tatty to be honest.

I know only I can make the final call is mine, but I was thinking, how many cool colours have I been missing.

I think a lot of my choice comes down to interior. I like the browns and tans in the car as it gives a bit more of a vintage look. Oxblood red and black are a no-no. So my colour choice HAS to work with that choice of interior.

My current HOT list is as follows, (no doubt to change)and additions to be made/ pulled.
1) Dove Blue
2) Mango smoothies colour.(always loved that car)
3) Auqua Marine Blue Metalic. Now this one creates an issue because the interior is red and it looks so right with that colour.....damn damn damn.
4) Silver (608) Red leatherette.......(there we go with the silver again)

lmao........Cory, that's why I didn't do the interior and that's why I'm not too phased with the exterior colour of the car, because it doens't look that bad, in fact it looks bloody good. It runs, it's taxed and licence and insured, so while I decide, I can at least have some fun with it.

I have gone through the Carerra 2 stripped look to something totally on the other side of life.

I'm thinking classy colour, a few exterior accesories, over-riders and clean to the T. Motor will still be my 4 cam look-a-like, but way more comfy.

The ass still has to come down and I'm actually considering a tranny lift for the back, not much, but I need to pull 2 inches out of somewhere without hitting too much neg camber.

Damn the list goes on...............and I'm sad to say, my dzussssss,s still aren't fit. That time of the year and with my wife expecting our 2nd, I have ZERO time to myself.

Cory's car is gonna be even cooler when it's painted. I'd stay away from greens with that rollbar/frame scheme.
