Replica ‘57 CMC Wide body. Not sure if I will leave it be... or risk installing side view mirrors. Any recommendations on possible mirrors that would be appropriate for this car?

I think Carrera (I think that's what they're called- or GT?) mirrors mounted on the fenders would look good on your car, Bob, after they're painted the body color.

Thanks for the input @ALB ! I will check them out... I think I remember what they look like. Kind of like the hood tach on a Pontiac GTO...

Yeah, those are the ones!
A Talbot would look nice and was a period correct option on a 356.

I absolutely go with you ALB,
The carrera GT mirrors would be best! The usual chrome mirror wouldn't fit to the style of the car. but just on the left side!

I don't think the "Carrera" ones give great rear vision though. The Talbot mirrors come in many sizes - some stainless, some chrome and some aluminum. Black and anodized are also available. They have Jr size ones and larger Mercedes size ones. Convex replacement mirrors are also available. They are very adjustable.
Hey Overkill Bob, Here's what the Carrera mirrors would look like on a red wide body CMC. Got mine from Greg @ VS. I cut new mirror glass to better fill the gap at the bottom corners. The passenger side mirror is of limited use, but they look cool as hell!

I've got a couple spares if you're interested. Pair of small Spyder mirrors that came with my rig & would need painting and some fettling. $50 for both. And a Raydyot knock-off I bought for the Spyder but will not be able to use. That's one's new-in-box. PM me if interested.
