Hey all,

I'm sorry to pose all these remedial questions (first classic car issues), but I'm wondering if any SoCal speedster owners can recommend a shop that would be willing to install Porsche emblems (trunk, rear, dash).

Greg at Vintage informed me that he is unable to do so...going so far as being unable to even pre-drill the holes due to copyright issues.

Even though i'm able to turn a few wrenches, I do not feel comfortable drilling into a brand new car, and do not have the dexterity to cut 3M tape and not mess it up.

Essentially, I'd rather have a professional take care of it.

Any information is greatly appreciated .

thanks.

@Robert M Thank you. I've gone through all the posts and even saved the PDFs regarding mounting positions and locations, I'm just unsure about doing it myself. I know many of you are fully capable of taking the car apart piece by piece, and hopefully one day I'll get there. But currently, I'd rather let a professional do the install. I'm terrified to place them incorrectly and ruin the new paint, or mess up a drilled hole in the dash, etc.

Beginner issues, i know.

Talk to someone at either a body shop or a place that does PPF or Paint Protection Film installation. See if you can one of them do it off-book or have their shop do the work. They remove and install emblems all the time. Should be a very easy task for them to do the installation with emblem tape.

I am not one of the members who can take their car apart. I can do some remedial things but only after years of ownership and encouragement. However, I still use professionals for many things.

Having said that, I used the 3M emblem tape. The hardest part was removing the posts but that wasn't too hard.

You can buy green masking tape for cars to mark off placement and evenness, along with protecting your paint.

Put the emblem on the 3M tape and use a good hobby knife to cut the emblem tape around the outside and any holes in letters. Do this on some scrap wood before removing the 3M backing.

Then, remove backing and stick it to the car. It comes off kinda easy initially if you need to adjust it and with a little heat later.

I did this 5 years ago and they are still there.
