John, every SAS customer who has one of Steve's cars has had a different wait time, but every one I've met has been very, very happy with the finished product.

As with JPS, proximity to the builder, expectations of the build process and your personal interaction with the shop may dictate your outcome over time.

I strongly encourage personal e-mail with several owners of SAS/SAW cars in order to see if what's going on with your project is 'normal,' and if the other owners may have any tips or advice.
Charles--I'm not so sure about that. I believe that David and Francine Stroud from Canada might have me and Hoss beat. And now David has put a Suby engine in his Speedster so he's ready to pile on more miles. Sick, sicker and sickest?

Back to SAS--to me, the first step is to deal directly with the manufacturer---Steve Lawing in this case. Next might be to PRIVATELY speak with other SAS owners before posting on a public forum.

It would be interesting to see some kind of ranking for customer loyalty towards the various Speedster makers. I'm betting that SAS might be as high on the ranking as anyone. (That's a good subject for another thread!)

Start by contacting Charles Gardner then John Hallstrand.

Just my 2 centavos worth. I hope this has a happy ending and believe Steve deserves that.
Felix, he's still at it. I rarely cuss on this site, but that's bullshit and I think he needs to knock that juvenile crap off. It's not merely annoying, it's destructive, antagonistic and rude.

If he were my kid, I'd ground him from social interaction, lock him in the basement and flood it with something like cement. Thankfully, my son was raised better.
I among many others feel the same as Cory. it's not because I own a SAS car as I would feel the same way if you were dumping on Carey, Henry, John or any other builder trying to make a living. Unwarranted off-handed remarks from someone who has no connection with a builder serves only to scare people away from that builder and verges on slander and/or libel. Steve Lawing is an honorable man trying to do business and make a living. Your comments, if trying to be funny, are as humorous as farts at a baptism. I would suppose if you dare made such remarks about the aforementioned builders, one might take you to court. Of course a good lawyer could always say his defendant was only talking out of his a$$.

What Are Defamation, Libel and Slander?

Generally speaking, defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.

ps: If you're coming to Carlisle, let me buy you a beer.
