Speedster Emblem (Thunder Ranch)

One of the 500 mile fixes that was ignored by Thunder Ranch last year was the right side SPEEDSTER emblem. It was not mounted level (drove me crazy to look at it) and it was broken in half. Well, half of the broken emblem fell off the fender this week.

I plugged, painted and buffed the wrong fender holes and then drilled and aligned new holes using the left side emblem as a template. A new emblem was ordered from Pelican parts only to find out the pins are not in the same place as the emblems used by Thunder Ranch.

Does anyone know where to get an emblem that will match the Thunder Ranch pin spacing?

I think Tom uses the same supplier we do for those emblems. If you want, call my shop in the morning and we can measure the pin spacing to be sure. 866-396-BECK or 574-546-4656

I have a couple emblems I took off my car. I cut a peg or two off because I didn't want that many holes in my car. I can measure them as well if you're interested. If I recall the were oem.

Cut the pins off and use double sided tape.

Thanks for the replies... As expected, no response from Thunder Ranch. I took a quick drive up to Vintage Speedsters this AM and bought a couple from them - perfect match.

Saw Chuck Beck's 904 at the Sun and Fun airshow in Lakeland Fl last month. What a beautiful job they did upgrading an already unique car...Chuck muttered something to me about doing 130 mph just the other side of a Florida toll booth :) ~Alan

Leaving Road Atlanta in Chuck's 3.6L 904 we pulled out onto the 35MPH road, and he put the hammer down. In what seemed like about 10s we were at 165 MPH and he was just getting into 5th. Coming up on traffic pretty quickly he kicked it around and in a flash we were 4th gear 145MPH and back into the track parking lot... It puts a whole new meaning to being thrown back in your seat. AND that was a fairly stock 3.6 He has a built 3.8 with a BEAUTIFUL set of triple PMO 50's that is going into that car, and he has a widebody, lightweight, fully caged, track 904 that is slated to get a 700+ hp twin plug factory Porsche race engine... just scary...

Carey just experienced a trip down memory lane for Cuck Beck. With a 700 Hp 904 in the hopper and weighing what? - less than 2000 pounds? - sounds like Can-Am all over again for Chuck. We are talking less than 3 pounds per Hp here? Good to know Chuck never lost the passion or the ABILITY!

I did drool all over Chuck's 904 and the rolling chassis next to it! Very sweet ride, most beautiful Porsche coupe IMHO.

Yeah word is Tom is coming to Carlisle . ACME Car Company of New Cumberland PA, is to be Thunder Ranch's east coast dealer.

So I can cross autocrossing against the 904 off the Carlisle to-do list.

I asked Dad about this and he said they were on the way back to a friend's house after the show one evening and pulling away from the toll booth some kid in a new Lotus jumped at Chuck a few times. Says it was a matter of a few seconds before it was a spec in the rear view mirror.
