There certainly are rules to follow but Canada allows replicars into the country but our road worthiness rules are more stringent than in the states. Be prepared for a possible frustration getting the car passed inspection. It may help to see a couple of inspection garages beforehand and see what the mechanic thinks. They are the ultimate decider whether or not it'll hit the streets or not.

Insurance might be the biggest pain. I think Robert Carley may help you a little with his experiences. I (Quebec) needed to change all cars to another insurance company because they said all or nothing. In the end the total costs were the same. I pay about $500.00 a year for FERN, with no limits.

When you plate the car, KEEP IT PLATED. Don't try to save a few bucks and have the plate retired in the winter only to be reactivated in the spring. This may require another inspection and this time the car might not pass.

Rules are that the cars need to have Hi-Low beams, sun visor, windshield washers that work. I got away with that one.

Mine was listed by Quebec as a 2001 Porsche as well. Hell I'm not complaining. I think since there are no listings for replicars that they will probably list yours as a 2004 or 05.
