Hello

I secure vehicles for their use in photo shoots, commercials, and other productions.

We are currently looking for a Speedster replica for a commercial filming this coming Tuesday, July 17th. Shoots in the Pacific Palisades / Malibu area of California.

Looking for a lighter colored car ( Silver, tan, white, etc) with burgundy interior. Red, tan or blue interior can work as well.

There is pay and the proper insurance in place.  We can also transport, on a truck, to and from the shoot.

There will be some driving planned for the shots.  Performed by a professional, knowledgeable driver. No crazy driving. Just the typical driving  along the coast roads shots.

If you have this car, interested, and available please email photos & contact info to Gabriel@MisterVintageMachine.com">Gabriel@MisterVintageMachine.com

Feel free to call me anytime with any questions.

Check out our Instagram and Facebook to see the projects we are involved in.

Thank you!

Gabriel

Rusty, who made those wheels on your car and what width are they. Thanks in advance. MIchel

The Vintage 190's are aluminum, so they are very light. I believe a 4 1/2" x 15 weighs 12 pounds and the 5 1/2 a half pound or so more- close to what the 911 Fuchs alloys weigh. They're reasonably priced, the car will lose 25 or 30 pounds of unsprung weight (steel wheels really are heavy!), which translates into slightly better handling and braking, everyone here and on the Samba who's bought them have nothing but good things to say so they seem to be a quality product and they look good, so there's not really a down side.  The only 5 x 205 wheel lighter is the Technomagnesio, at substantially higher cost (somewhere around $3,000/set?- they are very cool too, btw).

The only way (I think) they could improve what they offer- make a 6 1/2" wide wheel (with the extra inch on the inside). With 5 1/2's and 175's, 185's or 195's on the front and 205's on the back, as well as helping tame these cars' inherent oversteer issues, it would be totally badass. Al

Mine were $2800.00. I'm happy with them but I have to worry about them more than I'd like to. Still waiting to pick up a 5th for the spare. Thought about getting a 190 for a spare.

The Technos are 15 x 5 and the offset is slightly different than the 190s.

205 fits on the 5.5" Al. 205/60/15 on the back of the Spyder.

You are right, Danny, it does, but it doesn't squirm around as much on a 6 1/2 or 7. Just sayin'...

@TRP said- "I'm happy with them..."

I know I've probably asked before, Ted, but do you remember what a wheel weighed? As I said, they are very cool...

According to John Willhoit's website the wheels are 12lbs. Apparently he is the only US based distributer of these wheels.

You guys hijacked this thread. Happy to read and learn about the wheels. But can we stick to the topic and maybe start a separate thread on the wheels?

Peace & Love everyone!

AND, if anyone is interested in having their Speedsters available for future shoots, feel free to send me pics and phone number anytime. Always booking cars on shoots year round.

@MrVM hi-jacking a post is common for this website (and probably with a lot of other forums). The original topic is typically hi-jacked by the 2nd or 3rd reply. Its the 'nature of the beast' on here.

The initial reply will have some relevance but then..."SQUIRREL"... (from movie 'UP'). Then it drifts even further..."SQUIRREL"...from that point on. Distracted by shiny objects.

Ever read any 'For Sale' adds in the 'Classified" section of this site? Brutal.

Actually rented a 41 packard , 36 Cadillac and 39 buick to lucas industries for the movie Tucker. It was a lucrative thing then.  was paid as an extra for driveing the packard for a couple of scenes  . The other cars were set dressing.  Interesting experience.

Funny.  I used to buy flowers for my wife from the gentleman that played the Jury Foreman in the movie "Tucker".  As I would purchase the flowers from him, the only thing going through my head was "Let the man speak!....Let the man speak!"  His only line in the movie.

It's crazy, he was in a number of movies and television shows, but yet still worked the flower stand by Union Square.
