I was hoping someone out there has the original Speedster windshield hardware, and no longer needing it since it has been replaced with a new Dario or other plexi-glass screen. What I need for just a short time is the aluminum base that is attached to the body, which holds the rubber seal in which the glass sits. Thanks for your help

John: Thanks for the reply, I'll take it when I can get it, I'll pay for shipping. Remember I don't want to keep it, I just want to take the lower Speedster windshield hardware most of us have on our Spyders with glass windshields and take it to a manufacturer to see what can be done to make a plexiglass windshield that follows the aluminum track that is already attached to the Spyder body.
John at JPS has let me borrow a used broken glass windshield, I'll be taking that as well. Thanks for your help.
Karl,I have one that you can keep if I can get it to you.I live in a resort town in southern NM and need to get to home depot to see if I can get something to ship it in(some sort of tube).Since that is 1.5 hours away I only get there about every 2 weeks. This part is one that is left over from my Northstar Spyder project. The heavy chrome ends that everyone uses for windshield attachment just did not fit my body to my satisfaction so I machined some new ends from aluminum. These required a longer strip on the bottom and that is why I don't need this part any longer. Don't worry about the shipping,I'll take care of it-just pass the favor on to another car enthusiast. I'll need your ups shipping address.john
John: I've been following your Northstar project with envy and wonder, knowing I would never be able to do anything like that, my hat is off to you. When ready, ship to Karl Dempwolf at 3962 Witzel Drive Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 And I will be sharing what I learn from this project with others on the Spyder sites. Thanks again John.
Karl, your part was shipped today and it should arrive thurs. To protect it,I shipped it inside a pvc tube. The tube is 2 inches longer than the part. That way you can hold the tube vertical, slam it hard on the ground several times to shift the part to one end, and then cut the top end off. I would still suggest cutting near the end(through the glued on cap) and watching as you get thru the pvc to insure you don't damage the part. Good luck on your project.john
Thank you John, there is something else you could do for me when you have the time. Don't know what kind of a plexi windshield you are installing, the Dario or some other but I would love to have a few measurements starting at the center from the top of the screen to where it bends to be attached to the body. Mine will be a bit different towards the either end, but getting a few measurements will tell me the over all hight and how rapidly it falls off as it comes down on either right or left side. Your help is appreciated.
