Used Spyders are rare and often get snatched up pretty quick. One reason for their rarity is that less have been produced over the years and don't often go up for sale. This website is a good place to look because people usually post an interest in selling her before posting them on other websites. PCarmarket and Bring a Trailer also have used Spyder's etc for sale occasionally. BAT prices tend to be higher and PCar doesn't have as much presence but people use it anyway. What is nice is that you can put in an entry for notification when the cars come up. I'm not certain if Spyder's go up for sale much on The Samba website but it's worth a look.

You could also reach out to Carey at Beck/Special Edition and Greg leach at Vintage Motorcars, LLC and see if they have any used cars on consignment. A new build would be at least 3 years out so used is definitely the way to go if you want one now but you'll have to put in some work to find one.

Good luck.

P.S. - The blue text in my post above are links to the websites mentioned. Click on them to go straight to the sites.

@Robert M no worries, and appreciate the mention.  I just so happen to have a really awesome VM  build I will be listing with a Porsche Type IV motor built by Fat Performance and lots of nice upgrades and might also have a slightly older VM cars build coming available soon as well.

Anyone interested in 550 can reach out to me or go to my website, www.cloud9classics.com and fill out the Dream Car Locator. Thank you.

I will selfishly say that the VM 550 Spyder I will be listing has significantly better features than the BAT listing noted above and is a very low mileage build done in 2019. A few pics for anyone potentially interested.

Not trying to take anything away from the one listed on BAT but want to be sure anyone who might be interested knows their options.

Beautiful nonetheless.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 true

but it could be corrected.

Yeah. Just add money.

Wheels and tires(brakes too): They appear to be 4 x 130, so a change to 5 x 205 could be anywhere from $1500 to over 3k depending on your needs.

Gauges: Seriously, these don't belong on this car. Maybe a ghetto Honda but not a 550. At least $1k.

Interior: Just NO. Gotta be 2k plus to fix that, or more.

Paint: Nobody wants a red Spyder(almost nobody?). At least re-do the gauge pod in the painted dash. $6k to $10k or more for paint these days. Don't forget the taillight-ectomy.

Engine: It will cost a bare minimum of $6k to $20k to re-engine this car, whether it goes to a Subaru or aircooled.

So $38k for the car and another $17k to $40k to FIX it? Doesn't add up, unless you are a quality painter and fabricator and do it all yourself.

But yeah, if you like a tacky ghetto cruiser, buy it and leave it as is.

BE CAREFUL in your used search.  We thwart potential scammers weekly, especially in the last year or two as they have increased in value.  TONS of scam postings out there...  If you run across a used Beck, feel free to reach out to us with a chassis number and we can verify the build number and specs.  We're seeing listings that are just 100% fake and we're also seeing "other" brands advertised as Becks.

I don't have anything used at the moment, and have a sizable waitlist of people waiting for the right used car, so I can't help there at the moment, but now that BAT has slowed down a bit we're starting to see consignments more often now.
