I was looking to purchase some stone guards for the headlights and wanted some input from you. There are a number of choices out there. I wanted something that would look authentic and would go on easily. Thanks in advance.
My preference is these:
A little harder to install the first time since you need to drill a small hole in the headlight bucket ring bu they can be remove and reinstalled very easily for cleaning the headlights. Also, when installed they don't make the headlight bucket stand off from the body.
@Robert M - I have considered those for my car also. Would you mind posting a few close-ups of exactly how they attach (the holes and thumbscrews)? No rush, I have just never saw any installed.
Unfortunately I do not have them on my car. I had the ones that go under the headlight bucket and did not like them because of the gap they created. I have seen these in person on several other Speedsters and keep thinking I want them, but I haven't pulled the trigger on the purchase yet.
If anyone else has them please post photos. Maybe @Troy Sloan has some photos. I think he has installed these also. Maybe?
I was thinking about this after a stone (one freakin' stone) took out my cover glass, H4 converter module, H4 bulb, and parking light bulb. (In 30,000 miles, this has happened to me once.)
But, I was able to replace all of that for less than the SM price for just one stone guard!
Thanks for your input. It isn't so much the look of the stone guards for me but the roads and the trucks and what hits the glass. I also don't want to put a bra on the car as that would be a bit too much.
