Does anyone like these?  On spyders they designated team or country colors.  On spyders red was German,  British racing green was of course England and I copied a French race car and put Capri blue stripes on my spyder.  Do they mean anything on a 356?

Key ring is from Rod Emory’s shop. Badge is from India. Probably a copy of Rod’s badge. All of his cars come with this badge. But I think the design actually is from a Porsche club in Germany. Like us Emory honors Porsche’s idea of the perfect sports car. And by copying an Emory and his style I honor both Rod and Porsche. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Suby or a Porsche drive train. But I do like the idea of a type 4 and a 901 5speed in my car.

More of this, please.

This is all I’ve got Ed.

The “friend” is Jack Walter, who owned/restored the Dean Jeffries’ Carrera that I’ve posted about prior. That’s his lifelong buddy Ernie crouched by the car as it was Auto-X’d in the 70’s.
Ernie is also the owner of the gorgeous Black/Green cabriolet I recently posted. Ernie’s next project is restoring a 356a race car that he’s owned for 40 years to street trim.

“Founded on 24 May 1903, at the then Hotel Silber (hist. building) in Stuttgart, ADAC was originally named Deutsche Motorradfahrer-Vereinigung (German Motorcyclist Association) and re-named Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC) in 1911. The Prussian eagle was selected as the emblem in the club’s badge in appreciation of the Prussian royal family’s support and patronage. Its most senior figure at the time was German Emperor and King of Prussia Wilhelm II.”

Ya think? A 550a with a flat-fan 547 in it? Ohhh yeah! Not really in love with the weird green swoopy stripe, but heck-yeah to the rest of the car.

Wonder where it is now?

I’m pretty sure it’s been restored to factory spec. Too valuable not to. Last info I can find on it it was sold to a German Willi Simens in the late 80’s.

btw, I mis-typed. It’s 0113, not John Von Neuman’s 0115.
