I'm installing a 94 Subaru Legacy Engine Twin Turbo 2.0L Dohc EJ20?
I want to use a Suby T-axle have any of you done this swap if so
which 2WD T-axle would work with this swap? I have also heard that they make a kit to change a later Suby 4WD to a 2WD?

Thanks,
JC

JC,

There's a two-wheel drive legacy (two or three years of it) that has the transaxle you are looking for. You can convert a 4wd to 2wd.

Larry Jowdy on the spyderowners.com site can fill you in - he's a spyder guy - subaru guy - 911 guy - well okay - he's just a REAL COOL GUY!!!

There's a couple of threads on the site with pictures for converting the 4wd subie to 2wd if I recall correctly.

I am just finishing swaping a NA DOHC EJ25 and Suby transaxle into my spyder. I used a kit from these guys: http://www.bremarauto.com/subaru_transaxle_conversion.htm

I bought the sleeve and made my own plate. You can also use the rear housing from a 2WD transaxle and shorten the whole assembly a few inches. There are differences in CV joints that you may want to take into consideration....

I planned on reusing original Suby inner CVs and resplining the original Subaru axles to fit 930 outer CVs. But the axles were too small. Apparently the turbo cars use larger axles but my NA trany axles were too small. So I bought 930 axles and had the Suby end resplined. Not a big deal but a little extra cost for new axles. If I had to do it again I would have bought type II CVs.

Good luck with you conversion. I haven't gotten mine on the road yet but the end is near.
