Just did my first test drive last night, engine doesn't want to take much throtle (stumbles and pops) below 3000rpm (when you try to accelerate hard) above that it runs like you turned on the afterburner.
Run it up to 5000 and hit 2nd gear, again into 3rd, then into 4th and back off as the spedo says 140kph.
WOW now I know why some have headrests (not for aerodynamics but to hold your head up)
Tried some sweeping turns, easy on the throttle in 2nd above 4000 or the tail wants to get in front, but easy to controle, also it stops verry well.
A little tinkering and tuneing and I think I will like this Spyder. Jerry

ps, in my humble opinion, it needs a better muffler.

your idle jets are mainly used below 3000 rpm. have you cleaned them? does it pops and stutter just sitting there idling? What jet sizes are you running?

The new IDFs I bought from them had some bad mixture needles in them. It took me a while to sort them out. With a turn key you wouldn't expect that. I think they ship theirs with 50 idles, 135 mains and 175 air corrections (I just tuned a friends new engine last night and the webers came from CB wit these jets). I can't imagine your air density is too much different form ours, so you might check to see that the idle jets are clean. Usually on a new car you will cleanse the tank and get the jets dirty until you run some gas through the system and filter it all out.

just a thought.

actually I read you post differently this time and thought of somethign else. Are you saying that the car idles and sdrives okay under 3000 rpms without popping and stuttering? and that it seriously pops when you put your foot into it until it revs up and then shoots like a demon possessed? If so, you accelerator pumps might not be adjusted properly. How about that? The engine is going lean momentarily until the vacuum can pull the gas in...
