Sad to see it go but my Speedster went to a very good home. I wanted to thank you all for all the support over the years, putting up with stupid questions, and general banter. What a great group you are!

Now I can focus on getting the last of the 914 done and the '59 MGA on the track -and the long list my wife has for me.

Best to all of you!

Have you posted photos of the 914?  I bought a new one in '72 (1.7L) paid $4300 - put 120k miles on it.  I did add Fuchs w/Michelin XAS, AC, Webers with big bore kit, F&R rear sway bars and Koni shocks (and repaint) but sold it in '83 for $4500.  Dumb move - they seem to go for $20k+ now. Handled great and very versatile for travel (lots of luggage space compared to current Miata).  Still hoarding '75 1.8 and 2.0L engines.

No photos on the 914 but I can soon. I've wanted one of these since I was a teenager. I jumped at one in CT but the longs were gone. A typical result for impulsive buying (which I am very familiar with). Stripped that one and junked it.

Got a '74 which was pretty solid for the Northeast but still welded in the frame stiffener. Added Konis and redid all brake lines, calipers, etc. It had a 1.7 so put in a bog bore kit, had the crank balanced, H beam rods, CB cam, and Webers. Hoping to have it in next month for the startup -fingers crossed.

The '59 is a ground up. I've always done air-cooled so playing in water is a new experience. I thought the Speedster stuff was bad. On these you want a forged crank so that's a grand. Then I'm doing the Pauter rods to reduce the rotating mass -another grand. Oy.....

Have a great weekend!
