I was doing a general tune up on the Patina Speedster. You all know the process, adjust the valves, change the oil, clean up and adjust the points, new plugs, and clean the idle jets (Dellorto's after all!), etc.

Valves adjusted, check!

Oil drained, check!

Remove the oil screen...What is that on the plate?!

OH NO! Looks like I'm going to be pulling the engine!

What have you guys (and girls!) found in your oil?

We call that part numbers...  While I don't like to see glitter in oil, it's pretty common to have some fine metal or shimmer or assembly line/graphite in an oil change, especially of a newly built engine (the majority of my oil changes are break in oil) but when we get part numbers in the screen, it's time to come out and inspect.
