The Silver Bullet (Okay maybe not quite a bullet) is finally here.. 05' Vintage Speedster with 596 miles, silver with leather oxblood, 1915cc engine, disc brakes up front & a 3:88 trans. I couldn't be happier, a total blast to drive. Doesn't get you from A to B super quick but you do look pretty darn cool getting there. Also want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer all my questions.

That's the same color combo as mine so I'm biased when I say that it looks great. My car doesn't have the bumper guards and I'm digging the way they look. I may have to consider adding those to my car to round out the classic look.  I've thought about adding the rear reflectors to....oh well, so many things to do and so little money to do it. LOL

I noticed however that the dash eyebrow is not leather. (The padded curved piece in front of the steering wheel) If I'm not mistaken the leather eyebrow has double stitching on the face of the brow.  I thought my car was leather when I got it but found out it was vinyl.  Damn good looking vinyl though even if it is.

Here is a pic of the engine from the first time I looked at the car, before I got the chance to dust it off. It looks brand new now.

As far as the tires, they are the standard size tires you see on vintage speedsters.

Regarding the other question, I'm not sure, its a turnkey build by Vintage Speedsters on a 72 pan. I can take a look when I return home the end of the week. I know that I did see some type of sway bar underneath it.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I'm new to the game so I'm still learning about the car

Yeah, this color combination has always been my personal favorite on any Porsche. When I stumbled on this car, I was hooked!

I really looked over the seats and I would swear they are leather. I didn't check the dash, I will take a closer look when I get home. I would be very surprised if it wasn't knowing the gentlemen that had the car built. He didn't  appear to cut many corners.

Here is another picture of the interior from when I was originally looking at the car.

Like Robert said, in my experience if the eyebrow was leather it would have stitching, but that doesn't mean that the seat cushions and back are not leather.  It's easy to tell, just pull up a seat cushion and if you see fabric on the back side of the material it is Alante, simulated leather.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Alante.  In some ways it is better than leather and as you can see, it is nearly impossible tell it from leather just by looking at it.  It's easy to care for and will last for a long time.  So don't be concerned if it turns out to be Alante "replica" leather, after all the whole car is a replica!  Very nice car.

FYI.  Judging by the snaps on your dash, your tonneau was not installed by Vintage.

Robert, You called it.. Not leather.. At least the seller didn't tell me it was, totally my assumption.. You know what they say!

Troy, It is Alante, I'm actually not disappointed given I live a exceptionally dry HOT climate.. I'm sure this will have a longer life span than leather... And, as you mentioned it had me fooled. : )

Is that a bad thing that my tonneau wasn't installed by Vintage?
