We're all "Car People" on here or we wouldn't all be driving these little 'clown cars', so THIS is the weekend to get lots of beah, make up a big Crock Pot full of Chili, figure out which channel(s) you can watch the Rolex on (it moves around from channel to channel unless you stream the IMSA channel) get your recliner and slippers ready and enjoy the race.  Usually the pre-race commentator and background info starts around 2pm on Saturday, with the end of the race around 3pm on Sunday.

I've been getting a constant stream of emails from TRG Motorsports since the first of the year and this year they'll be campaigning their pair of Porsche Cayman GT4s.  A lot of old Livery Colors from years gone by being revived this year, too:

Chris and I won't be there again this year (He's way to busy and I've been sick since Christmas) but we'll both be watching as much as we can - certainly more comfortable in my living room than standing on the Grandstand roof for 24 hours!!  Kathy just said "well you're up most of the night with your 'sinus thing', anyway, so you might as well watch the silly race in the middle of the night."   Wives are so practical.....

Do a search on your TV service for "Rolex 24 hours of Daytona" for channel lineup in your area.

And if you live with driving distance you really should try to get there.  Get a day pass   with garage access and you can walk right into the garage areas and talk with support crew people, maybe even drivers!  All that happens before the race on Saturday, so get there early.

OMG!  This year's TV coverage is SO MUCH BETTER than the past few years of Fox coverage.

If you have a Smart TV or AppleTV or a Roku box, go grab the NBC/SN streaming channel for complete, non-stop coverage of the full 24 hours.  The commentators are mostly real drivers from F1/Indy/IMSA/NASCAR and they are all great.  I had some misgivings when I heard about a few of them, but no more grumping, now.  THIS is how an endurance race should be covered!

Really makes me wish I was down there again......  And then I remember freezing my butt off up on the grandstand roof, plus it's supposed to be a Florida downpour from about 8am right through the end of the race tomorrow.   Sure wouldn't want to be up there for that!
