So I saw that the previous thread on this topic had been closed. I have a CMC that sits on a late 60's chassis. Anyway, I have a question regarding this issue. I see the steering box and wanted to know if it would make sense to make an access hole through the front trunk area. If some of you have done this how and what did you use to cover the hole you made ?

Copied, pasted and saved as a PDF, and attached below for anyone else who is interested.

For me, the coolest part of this is how to set up your steering to eliminate slop.

He says the first place everyone normally tries to fix this (the set screw and locking nut on top) is actually the last thing to monkey with, and that the problem is usually elsewhere.

He also says it's not usually in the large adjustment on the front, either, but in how the box was aligned on initial installation.

At any rate, a good read for anyone with 'loose' steering issues.
