Pretty quiet from the "Smo" front.

I wonder if they all got caught for egregious speeding and all ended up in the slammer.

I also wonder if the jailers let them have their fire pit.   🤔

(All singing in jail):

"Nobody knows, the roads where I've been

Engine screaming and rubber squealing.

The Cops shut us down and impounded our cars

We'll get out in time for Thanksgiving....."

It's obvious they're out driving not typing. I'm sure we'll get the updates at the end of the day when the driving is done.

@Robert M had it right.  We were too busy drivin' and (later) drinkin' to fiddle with computers.

Another one in the books, folks.  Weather was fantastic - a little hot Wednesday and Thursday, but clear, with much cooler temps for the rest of the weekend.  @Carlos G did his usual masterful job on the routes and also used his considerable talents on the lunch and dinner venues, all of which were first rate. We had quite a variety of cars including 3 Speedsters, 4 Spyders, a Coupe, a Cayman, two 911s, a Camaro ZL1, a C5 Z06 Corvette, a C8 Corvette, a late 70's 280Z, and our hotel host joined us in a BMW M550i for the Rattler run.  We had the usually few mechanical issues: Stan had a suspension failure after hitting a big pothole that caught several of us by surprise (the remainder of the first family of Stanistan's trip will be titled "Plains, Trains, and Automobiles Part Deux"), Kelly had a wheel bearing issue halfway through the last run (Blue Ridge Pkwy cruise), but made it back to  the hotel safely, and I had an issue with a window again.  Sounds like a typical Carlisle, doesn't it?

I used the trailer I bought from @DannyP worked well for getting the Coupe home behind my wife's Outback.  It's turned out be a great all-around car.  (I even figured out the easy way to disable the RAB nanny!!)  With help from the guys I got the car on the trailer and had a surprisingly pleasant drive home.  Sometimes it's relaxing to putter along in the right lane at 60-70.

We had some conversations about next year's event.  While we love the Brevard location, we don't want it to get stale, so we may alternate between there and another location.  Northern Georgia and southwestern Virginia have come up, but its hard to beat having a local to set things up.

Lots of folks have posted pics in the FB group.  More to come over the next couple of days here and on FB.

And a few more...DSC_0801DSC_0803Tom Boney's new C8 Corvette.  He may have sold a few more after letting Stan and Danny drive it.

DSC_0804Cory and Jeni's SUV identified as a Ford GT40 for the cruise.  Only way top keep up.

DSC_0805DSC_0806DSC_0807DSC_0808DSC_0810DSC_0811DSC_0812DSC_0813DSC_0814Yes, that's actually Mike Fincher.  He snuck away from @chines1 to have a little fun.  Pretty sure he'll be back.  The guy in the red shirt talking to him is a buddy of mine from all the way back in the 9th grade who joined us last year as well.  His name is Kelly, so to tell him a part from Kelly Frazer we named him Kelly2, which then evolved into "The Deuce".

I’m up for anything but nothing beats the Smo. I particularly liked Brevard. Beautiful town with something for everyone. The other restaurants were also fantastic including the Old Horse Station at the end of the Rattler.
It would have been nice if the hotel outdoor area was nicer. The parking lot was a bit small. But all in all the best Smokies trip I’ve ever been on including many prior bike trips. I think Brevard and the Smokies in general will be tough to beat.
