Well I finally have my engine back from the builder. I'm stuffing a 911 engine into a StreetBeast tube frame. The problem I'm having is I need about 2 -3" more space to fit the tranny/engine into the compartment. The 901 & 915's are too long and the selector rod runs under the torsion tube (IRS). I spoke with Kennedy Eng.. They make a flywheel & clutch combo for a stock VW that will work. Selector rod is above the torsion tube & the VW tranny is shorter that the Porsche tranny. So now I need to have a VW tranny built - any advice as to a builder, gearing, etc. I'm planning on limited slip diff. 4 or 5 speed. The engine is rated around 200hp., using 15 in. wheels.
