Can anyone give me an idea why/what would cause a trans fluid leak (looks like about 1/4 cup) on a "Vintage Speedster" with 100 miles after a short ride the day before.  It is supposed to be a 3.88 trans.  Never jacked the car, or bottomed out, etc.  Also, any recommendations on a safe place to jack up the rear end using a low profile floor jack?

Thank you in advance.

It's not that easy.  First you need to find where the leak is coming from, THEN we can suggest fixes.  Different fixes for different leaks!  At 100 miles, most likely something needs to be tightened properly.

Jack points on a pan car:

Once I get the car up on one end I support it with jackstands and move to the other end - two at the front under the torsion bar tube right close to the shock absorber towers, and two at the rear under the torsion bar end caps (it's a steel casting and plenty rugged).

Then, depending on how far you live from Vintage, you can either take it back to them for the fix or do it yourself, depending on seriousness.

BTW Gents,  You cannot beat the service from the New "Vintage Motors".  Justin just called and he is coming here to pick up the car Monday and have it fixed.  Things happen and great service is all you can ask for.  Some people were wondering about the new company, I believe it is going to be a 1st class operation!
