Sten Hansson from Sweden here.
Building a Speedster Replica.
Having problem with the door locking mechanism. Ordered the upper door plate and the locks to fit into the plate, BUT.
Perfect fit together but not into the door, look at the pictures and figure it out. Not possible to swap place due to bolt holes and cut out for the lock.
What have I done wrong?

According to page 46 figure 20 of the 1984 CMC build manual in the SOC library - you have to cut off that locking tang. The figure shows where to cut it.

One more stupid question: how does the door handle work without that part?

Sorry missed the photo
It took me awhile to find old thread (link now posted) and photo. The bar that goes to handle button fits to part of that lever (the part that's left after cutting it off). On CMC the door lock capability is not used - it could be engineered to work though.

Looking at the above pix, please don't cut your turn indicator light where you have it penciled in...it'll just look wrong 
I was hoping he had just marked some gel coat spider cracks for repair.

I know that it is the locking but what does it look like?

One more question: fitting the window in place on the body.
There is a bulge on the body, are the window supposed to be on top of that or behind that bulge or in front?
Why I have all these questions are because my Speedster did not have any building plan.
So I`m going to be such a pain in Your behinds for a long time.

FYI, Marantz- If I am not mistaken ( this was brought up here recently), your membership subscription will be automatically billed to your charge card each year...unless you notify someone (?), somehow (?) to stop it. Anyone care to elaborate again on that?
On 9 Feb I sent you a dialog with a web link to a FREE copy of the FiberFab build manual. There are couple versions of build manuals but not much difference in them. Years ago I posted a drawing of where the windshield end brackets/posts go. That should help with positioning of windshield --- at least if yours is a CMC/FF body.
