FYI: drove cb turbo/ fuel inj 1914cc from denver (1 mi) to leadville (2 mi). Approx. 80 miles of mtn roads two people and luggage. Plenty of power to drive as fast as road conditions allowed. A max of 90 in places and a few others were passing me! Oil heat is controlled by front mount oil cooler with a fan, and an in the car heater fed by the oil lines to the cooler. Both are operated only when the eng. oil reaches 180 degrees & above, and each can be isolated by a shut off-valve. Air temp was 60 to 70 during the days. One morn there was frost requiring enriching the llower circuit till it was warm then leaning it out further then usual to run at altitude. Still woking out that part of the system. Pinging occured only under hard exceleration and climbing. Dist adj. and high oct has helped.

Victor (or is it Vic?),
Tell me more about that set up. I have been intrigued by the Turbo prospect. Right now I'm watching a guy machine a crank pulley the fan AND a serpintine belt pulley to drive a paxton supercharger. But I have been very interested in the turbo set ups, and it sounds like the oil heater and cooler is a whole new solution. What are the cam and connecting rod specs? What's the compression ratio and heads. I wonder what horsepower and torque it is pushing. Is it hooked up with a standard tanny? Thanks, Jack
Jack
It's either/or.
The turbo system is from CB perf. that i added to the ultra comp fuel injection (that was purchased as a turn key option).
The turbo is a airesearch TO 3 that pushes to the 48mm throttle bodies. The waste gate is set at a conservative 7 psi and the altitude reduces pressure by about 7%.
My compression ratio is 8.4 to 1. the heads are stage one ported 40 mm in and 33.5mm ex. It has hydraulic valves with a schneider hyd. lifter #1 grind. all fairly mild.
The tranny is called a super street, which I guess is a standard that is beefed up some. Playing aroud with the rear suspension as I experienced some wheel hopping when excelerating to fast.
As far as HP claims I have not a clue. I wanted more power and was not ready for an engine. It does zoom. Still working out some things, ie pinging (thanks for the info George) and getting it to run lean and cool at this thin air. platying with injector sizes and fue pressure. Happy with the oil cooling. Have had problems when air temp is 100 deg. Dont have an intercooler.
