I’m sure some of you are familiar with this one.  Should make for an interesting auction.  This car is stunning.

VM teased this on their Instagram feed several weeks ago, and seemed to invite interest.  I’m guessing nobody had an appropriate offer, so Greg choose to list on BAT.

What’s your guess as to the price this beauty will go for?

Very very nice but I personally don't see it as an $85,000 car. Just nothing truly remarkable or eye popping about it, just very well done. Does the uniqueness of the Pre-A Continental Coupe add that much to it? These are $45,000 base , new?

Engine choice is purposely just adequate, suspension is purposely more original than updated. Some nice decorative options.

I don't know how to put that without likely offending someone

Maybe "replicating the vintage experience"? Or stock performance?

I don't pretend to know how much this will go for. But NOT waiting a year(that is at least how long it will take) may be worth a premium. I'd go as far as saying 5 to 10k more for not waiting, maybe.

Any more than that and I'd just wait the year and get EXACTLY what I want.

I've also seen this car in person, and during the build.  It is exceptional in every detail.  The owner was targeting a build as close as possible to the original '55 Continental from a replica, and Greg nailed it. The cost to have one built from scratch is going to be at least $50,000 and I'm probably short a little.  The time to build a coupe this nice will be 2 years plus (ask me how I know).  If it's marketed on BAT properly and at least two guys want it enough, it'll pull a really nice price.

Also, a damned shame about the owner's woes, but isn't he lucky he was able to save the coupe from the flames.  My heart goes out to him.

Ironically, seeing this listing today on BaT brought me back to the forum after a break. I'm catching up on the state of the industry.  Beautiful car with a build price likely just under $50K.  Mecum auction in Kissimmee results tell us that money is moving back to cars, but with just one day to go, I'm guessing this beauty gets to $46K but may not change hands.  Great ride, though.
