I just saw a TV program with Jay Leno getting a speed record on Talladega (?). In this program they also talked a lot on Spyder 550 and visited a manufacturer. The guys name is russ and the company called something starting with Fibre maybe fibreworks. Does anyone have information on this company.
from Carey Hines on Speedsters.com

The 550 coupe is, as I understood it, a joint venture between Russ at Fibersteel and Wil at Automotive Legends. It was created on a body and chassis from Vintage Spyders.
I had the chance to see it when I visited Wil's warehouse in Camarillo a few months back. Very nice work. The way they cut the driver's door into the roof line made it easier to get in and out of than a spyder with the soft top up. Wil was running the car around for some photo shoots but I wasn't in it while he has driving, so I can't comment on the noise inside the car. He commented that it wasn't bad, though. I was rather impressed with how well they had finished the "little things" like the frenched in beehives in the rear and such. Nice work.

As for Automotive Legends' cars, they had mostly Vintage Speedsters in stock, although they had at least one finished TR flared speedster and several of my cars as well. Their spyders were also a mixed bag. They had one finished Vintage car, and a few of mine also finished (one of which was a customer's twin turbo... looked scary sitting still). They had several unfinished kits waiting to be built, including one from Vintage, a handfull of TR kits also unfinished and still waiting on parts, and several of my kits in various stages of completion. There was even a spyder in the corner that Wil had made in the late 70's. Funny thing is that he was based near South Bend, IN at the time he made that car(late 70's) just a few miles from my shop. Last year at Auburn I had several people tell me the story of the guy who built a few of these cars in this area...

Anyway, they had lots of other "neat" stuff down there too. Several Carrera RS replicas finished and unfinished. An original '58 speedy in BEAUTIFUL condition. An original '57 being restored. And a bunch of modern exotics, 360 Modena, few Mercedes, etc.

Just thought I'd share...
