Yup, the Veyron is a 10 cylinder and he'll have a better power to weight ratio (Veyron 520 bhp version) with a stock 996 in a Beck super coupe. The video is about the GT2, that's still a 6.
Actually the Veyron is a W-12, with three banks of 4 cylinders. It also has 4 turbos. I think it has a separate intercooler for each turbo, not to mention multiple radiators. I think Carey might curse us all if we convinced you to ask him for that.

OK guys you convinced me to keep the stock air intake (Maybe I will have it painted or powder coated).
Yes, with 300+ HP it will be a rocket. That's why I am having a roll bar installed and upgrading the brakes. I will also talk to Carey to make sure we maximize the wheels and tires to handle all the power.
300 HP would without question be fun for the first few minutes but then it's difficult to drive as a daily driver. I got to drive a 700HP Cobra replica in NJ some time back and it was total insanity.

Joel, if you want more than four cylinders and a vintage induction look, and are OK with water cooling, Beck has done that before in a smaller chassis - and without any ECU issues.
I don't know why Carey hasn't suggested this option...

Yeah, I was referencing the crashed Carrera GT, which is indeed a Porsche V10, derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 cars they ran(and won with) back then.

Joel, it's your car, but I would try to decide max wheel/tire size in keeping with suspension and brakes you'll use before you go too far on the power spectrum. If you can't put the power down, what's the use besides bragging right?

As I have mentioned before I test drove an IM with a turbo that was like a switch launcher then the owner moved it up to 359hp or more and lost it in the rain unfortunately. There is a limit to a car’s drive ability and at times you would need to remap the throttle to keep it on the ground.

I was offered the chance to drive a GT about 10 years ago. In one of my more sane moments, I turned it down.
I loved the Carrera GT when it was new. I loved it when it gained the reputation of being undrivable. I love it still, even though it's now a 7-figure car.
I'll never have the chance to drive one, and if I did I'd probably pu$$y-foot it around in an effort to keep from doing to it what somebody did to that Copart car.
But if I could ever shake my fear of breaking something irreplaceable, I'd love to wring out that thing's neck. A normally aspirated V10 mid-engined targa with a carbon tub and a manual transmission? It's the high-water mark of civilization. Everything else just kind of falls away around its feet.
I hear you guys. And thank you for trying to keep me in touch with reality. Sometimes you start to think about things and your mind starts running and the next thing you know you wake up in Kansas with red slippers on and holding a little dog named Toto.
I said before 300+ HP is more than enough for me. I am not looking for more power. As far as wheel, tire size and brakes are concerned, I know that I am constrained by the suspension and the wheel openings, and the brakes are constrained by the wheel size. We know we are using 4-wheel disc's but do not know the brand yet or the size. I also know I want to use Fuchs style wheels. I also know that I do not want a wide body. I am not a fan of the wide body look on 356's. 911's yes, but 356's no. So, whatever the largest wheel and tire combination is that will fit, that's what we will go with. I already had a discussion with Carey on this and he told me to wait until we know what suspension we are using, and then we can pick the wheels, tires and brakes.
I the mean time I need to say focused and not let my imagination run too wild.

I'd love to wring the neck of one of these too. Definitely on the track though.
There is a guy who lives 20 minutes from me(and is in the local PCA) has both a fully restored original Speedster AND a Carrera GT.

I like the car a lot, even though the interior is over the top and would not stay nice without a lot of care IMO. The stout looking stance is pretty nice.

I like the color, I love the engine.
Just strip out a bit of that over done interior and I'd drive the heck out of it.
I have been watching the build of this car on instagram. Before the present paint job it was an aluminum silver gray with a bunch of custom painted emblems. It also had different rims. It has been fun to watch, the guy spares no expense on the work. He also has an older ford GT40 and a replica speedster that I think he sold.

Nice car but it’s just trying a bit too hard. I would want an outlaw but something a bit more subtle.
Really anxious to see the start of the build for Joel’s car. Anytime it’s the first of it’s kind the build process will be very long. It may take another 2 years to complete even after it’s started. I had the first Subaru Spyder ever and the build process was 2.5 years. And this is much more ambitious. Carey told me he may use the stock 911 rear suspension for Joel’s car. After the recent challenges in getting Lane’s rear suspension sorted I kind of like the idea of using the 911 rear suspension. Time will tell. Lots of time.
I know what you mean, the wait for R&D can add to the build time. fyi I was the first full subie, with dual rad and different gas tank / trunk setup for IM.
In the end the issue will be how well everything will fit under the frame and body.
It will be interesting to watch.

The Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. I think If it was a different color combination some of you that think its tacky or overboard might think it’s Bad A**. I mean look at some of the craftsmanship that went into it. It definitely has the wow factor!! I don’t hate green but if it was black or a dark grey WOW!! I wouldn’t Kick it out of my Stables!!! Lol
