Using the "@" Sign

I've noticed lately that people haver been trying to use the "@" symbol to let others know you're thinking of them or using their name in a post but it isn't coming out right.

Remember, start with the "@" sign (no quote marks). As soon as you type it it should show in darker font. Do not type any spaces after the @ sign, just start typing the person's name you're trying to contact.

The text should come up in a darker color if you've typed a name that matches or part of a name that matches. A drop down box will also open with names that contain all or part of what you're typing.

If you type the name incorrectly no box will open or the box will close if you got the first part right but then make a mistake. For example if I am trying to reach Alan Merklin I would type the "@" sign with no space following the symbol, and start typing alan.

A box opens up with all the names containing these characters. If I type "alanm" the box closes which tells me I've types the name incorrectly. If I type the "@" sign alan space, m, alan merklin's and alan marsh's names appear in the open box. You need to click on Alan Merklin's name to select it or complete typing alan's full name or screen name for others and put a space after it.

If the name you are trying to type does not turn into a blue hyperlink you've done it incorrectly.

If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
