So...last Thursday (Nov. 15) I called Vintage Motorcars at about 4 minutes before 5:00PM, literally minutes before closing time.  A man answered, we chatted about what I was looking for, he confirmed he had the items in stock and he quoted me a price.  I asked if I was speaking with Greg Leach.  He said he was indeed Greg.  We then spoke about how I met him during the SLO Cruise in May of this year.  I hope I didn’t gush too much, but I did tell him the coupe he brought was incredible!

After a few minutes we agreed I should call back Friday after 9:30AM to order the parts and arrange shipping.  Of course I didn’t call until mid-afternoon on Nov. 16 but I was able to place my order and I was assured it would be in the mail ASAP.  Before getting off the phone I was asked if there was anything else I wanted to order. I joked and said something to the effect of, “There are many many things, but  nothing right now.”  I was told the order would be mailed out by the end of the day.

(This is where I get anxious...I had a less than favorable situation in the Spring of 2018 with one of Greg’s competitors; I won’t name the company in this thread as I have already posted about them in the past.  A very long story, but after being sent a partial order that was delayed time and time again, and later the wrong parts entirely, I decided it would be unlikely that I would purchase from them again.)

Back to Greg and Vintage Motorcars: Monday afternoon I got a delivery!  Two days with USPS from Vintage Motorcars to my door.  I opened the box and I realized I forgot to order a set of gaskets for the hood handle.  I called again.  I ordered the gaskets and was told I should have them by the end of the week.

Thanksgiving impeded the delivery, but Friday afternoon my hood handle gaskets were delivered.  Three days with USPS over a major Holiday...not bad!

I can’t begin to express to anyone reading this post how great it is having a guy like Greg and a place like Vintage Motorcars as a resource for all of us.  His knowledge, understanding, and customer service are unparalleled.  

Having Greg just a phone call away has definitely lowered my stress level after he picked up where Kirk and Mary Duncan left off!
