Vintage Motorcars - Vintage 190 wheels- Query

Sure look the same - but more expensive at SM.  Says they only have 5 in stock.

Here they are on eBay listed as EMPI Vintage 190 wheels.

Luis: Yes, they are the same wheels, and they're light, straight, and awesome. And not too expensive either. I'd just get them straight from Greg though.

I have a set of Gregg’s V190s.  Love them, truly exceptional wheels that give the Technomag alloy wheels a real run for their money.   Best overall value in my humble opinion not only for our clown cars but VWs and 356 alike,

I was just surprised to see them under the EMPI banner... figured maybe he was licensing his product, maybe entered into a distribution agreement, or just outright sold the rights, ...or EMPI had cloned the wheels.    Just surprised the VM name was not maintained- like JayCee or other quality brands purchased by Empi that maintained their name because of the strong brand and following is the VW community associated with their product.

Do we know that EMPI actually licensed them?  I'm suspicious given that they're not listed as Vintage 190's. But then the wheels I was fantasizing about last week weren't listed as Klassik Räder Starks on the CIP website either.

@chines1 commented a few days back about getting the gauges he and Henry from IM collaborated on poached by "back door" selling. I would not be at all surprised if the same thing happened here.

I sell the wheels to Empi... they come in the Vintage 190 wheel box and I am pretty sure they sell them as Vintage 190's.
