Hi All,
I would like to hear from customers past and present of Vintage Spyders on their experiences. Good or Bad. Actual delivery time versus promised time, early or late, etc. This is for a possible upcoming article on the current operation.
Please email articles(at)spyderowners.com
thanks

I am a 3rd owner of an early vintage spyder. I have made some significant changes such as disk brakes all around, installed a 911-cooling fan, a stereo system to mention some.

The car is fair in relation to the molds...some minor ripples are visible to a good eye and the paint applied appears brittle -chips easily. A heater, defrost, washer and a modular roll bar could have been of a great comfort and safety improvement.

Overall, it is a sport car with early technology and design. I love the little car....! I know that there are several spyder companies and each of them have specific attributes.

I congratulate all of them for keeping this design alive.

I have a 2004 Vintage. It is a work in progress but despite that I am impressed with the quality of the vehicle. I have had some issues to sort out, especially with the Jamar shifter. Greg at Vintage was very helpful and made the suggestion that solved the problem. The fuel pump had to be replaced after a few weeks but has not given any other problems. The oil temp gauge still is not working mostly due to my lack of time to work on it. The speedometer is not very accurate and I have not addressed that problem other than to "calibrate" the speedo by having my wife drive her BMW along side and give me her speed over the cell phone. I would much rather drive the Spyder than work on it. Norv
