A friend of a friend told me that he visited Vintage Speedster’s new home in Arizona and was told that it is putting out two cars a day, which seems unlikely or even impossible. Any thoughts?

How many cars is Starke putting out? I remember they thought that they would be delivering several cars by the end of the first quarter. Have not heard a word from them in some time.
40 hours per car (CMC 1988 adverts) - is only 2 guys to produce 2 cars. CMC were good to go gel coat so no painting req'd.

2 a day!
Before lunch! Then they meet up after work (at say, 3:30 or so) behind the surf-shack for some shrimp tacos.
I think Starke has changed their marketing strategy to capitalize on the trendiness of limited sales volume. From a recent Facebook post:
"...And, the best part is knowing that with every turn you carve that you're in an exclusive club..."
Yeah, the exclusivity is about how much you are willing to spend. I wish them well and that they don't get so "exclusive" that they go under. Big tent for 356 replicas, oh excuse me, revolution as they say. They are testing the upper price limit.
Maybe he said "we are building speedsters today",
and it was misunderstood as two a day...
I would be VERY impressed if that was the case! Doesn't the fiberglass need to cure in the mold for a week before it is removed??
Yeah, and letting them bake in the sun for a while isn't a bad thing either.

Ideally, I'd take the body, put in the subframe, and drag it into the desert for a year-- THEN do the body work and blocking.
My JPS was dead-flat when I got it. 6 months later it was a warped up mess.
Intermecanicca post cures their bodies. I don't know about other builders.

That was one of the reasons I went that direction in 2005.
