Hey y'all,
My Speedster has a 1600 with some modifications. Not exactly sure what ,but not totally stock. It has dual weber 34 ICT carbs made in Italy, installed when the car was built around 1993. The car runs"ok" but the throttle shafts are sloppy and they seem to suck air there, one more than the other. There may be other internal stuff that is worn out. The car is geared pretty low and this set-up suits my needs for the type of driving I do on this island.(max speed limits 55)
Questions: 1. Would the refurbished Italian carbs be be better than new ones built in China ,or who knows where? 2. Is there a reliable rebuilder who can do the job if I ship them the carbs?
Budget is an issue and I don't want to open up a new can of worms. My throttle linkage is adjusted properly and I am happy with it and I don't want to change it if I don't have to.
Thanks for your help in advance. Al

Hey y'all,
I called ACE and talked to Dave. He said that the guy that was doing the rebushing of their carbs stopped doing it. Doesn't know why, but they are searching for someone to pick up the slack.Said to call back and maybe they will be able to do the job later.
Called carbsonly.com and talked to Carlos in Burbank Cal. He said that I should send the carbs and they would see what they could do. I told him that I bought rebuild kits from Weber.com and not much that they sent would fit my carbs. He said "no comment" , he has people calling him all the time "all pissed off" because they got Solex rebuild kits. I guess that would have been me , except, I just ate the $56 screwing and chalked it up to education. I guess I should be more of a prick. I will contact the krustykarbs dude and see if I get anywhere.
The search goes on. Any input is welcome. (I have to admit that I'm getting kind of stubborn about this).
PS:Drove the car today about 20 mi. and it ran great. Rich, but great. Thanks, Al
