Rescuing Teby's car was a group effort.  All I'll take credit for was being stupid enough to crawl under it while it was only supported by a scissor jack.

We were all ready to grab the car if it fell on you Troy.

I wasn't. I was busy clogging my idle jet so I could get a new car. We all know hot that turned out Fireman Rusty S. (The "S" is for Superhero BTW).

JUST KIDDING Rusty. Thank you again!!

Just a couple things left to do before I have my car back together. It's been too dang hot to work in the garage due to the 110 degree days we've been having. I need to get the badges off of the engine grill so I can get the soot cleaned off. If I can't get it cleaned I'll need a new grill.

The fiberglass sides in the area inside where the grill goes is pretty worn out. There isn't much material for the screws that hold the grill in to grab on to. I'm taking the lid over to Troy's so we can look it over and come up with a solution. I also want to do a cleaner install on the fender washers that the luggage rack ends go through when installing it on the car.

After I get those issues fixed I'll put it all back together.

Everything is done now. The area directly under the grill suffered some discoloration I couldn't get cleaned. I sanded smooth the area under the grill and painted it flat black. Originally it was a very rough texture and it looked like it had been sprayed a rough textured grey primer. I had to replace the LEDs I used as my third brake light. Previously I had used strips of stainless bent on the ends and made to fit under the grill. Because I used steel epoxy to reinforce the side areas the grill attaches to I couldn't get the SS strips back in pace. I used JB Weld Steel Epoxy and pushed up and behind the existing fiberglass sides at the top and bottom of the lid area the grill fits into. I pushed epoxy into the existing, too big, screw holes, and let it cure overnight. The next day I was able to drill small holes into the hardened epoxy and they gripped the screws that hold the grill quite nicely. Then I used 3M adhesive to attach the LEDs directly to the surface under the grill. The grill cleaned up nicely but I could only save my SOC Badge. Luckily @Terry Nuckels gave me two new badges so I replaced the ones I couldn't save. They weren't so much fire damaged as the mounting studs broke off while trying to remove them from the grill. I also took the time to use two part epoxy to mount fender washers to the area under the grill where the luggage rack fits though and when it was all dry I painted everything flat black. It finishes the area up quite cleanly.

Now I just need to get the rest of the car detailed and life will be good.
