I canceled my Sept. vacation time today to take care of some important things in June.

Ed, this year’s event is going to be a last minute deal if it happens at all as my plate is rather full. I may just post a message saying something like “I’ll be in Maggie Valley on such and such a date. Who’s joining me?”
Where are you located? I’m down in Charleston, SC, so it’s a 5-6 hour drive for me.

This fall is loaded for us as well. We are in Africa 9/9-26, after which I was able to get a "kitchen pass" to attend the Carolinas Audi club gathering in Asheville Oct 4-6.

Melot(the original) has been made to go again. Drove her home about an hour ago!!! Merlot has been in the garaged and stored since 2013. Engine tuned, new wiring, etc. Still goes like Hell. I was told my 911 Carrera wouldn’t make it to Carlisle. Sold last week.
Aaron, I am glad to hear that Merlot is back on the road. At present I don’t know of any planned events in the area, but I’d love to get up there, see you, and experience those roads again. Anybody else up there want to give Aaron a ring?
Aaron, I got my Spyder out today to fell it up with some corn free in Rosman. I live in Pisgah Forest.
There is a guy that goes by @Hair in the Fletcher area with an IM Speedster/roadster whatever, that goes by John.
There is a guy that goes by Ed just across the border in SC that's building a Spyder with a 914 drivetrain. I met him through the British Car Club in Hendersonville. I haven't seen the progress of the car yet.
There was also an unconfirmed siting of a red Spyder in the Toxaway area.
This could turn into something.
The trip that has happened the last two years to this area is loosey goosey this year. I'm unable to give any real time to the planning of it, just been too damn busy taking care of stuff. I did offer a tour like I did last year if anyone did show or was passing through.
Aron, you must own the Beck I stopped to look at in the shop in Mills River last week close to my office. I’m glade you got back on the road. There is a monthly open car show @ the Builtmore Square Outlet Mall on Sunday from 2:00-5:00. I’ll be there in my Roadster or Double Cab pickup. I’ll be glade to fill you in on air cooled things in the area. John

Come on up. I sent Carlos a note. Lane been awhile since I’ve driven and explored around. Need to look at the Green River Gorge area. Looking forward to moving on!!

@Carlos G, I live in Winston-Salem and would really enjoy a weekend tour if we get a few people to go. I would think a weekend in late Sept or early Oct would be perfect!
FYI: Audi Club (Carolinas Chapter) is having a fall gathering Oct 4-6, based out of Etowah Resort, Asheville, NC. There are 55 cars participating.

PCA (Asheville chapter) is holding mountain getaway this wkend (8/15-18), and lotsa folks in the SE will attend Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta in mid October
