The original wheels had two much backspace -- 4 3/8" -- and looked flat. I scored some 4.5x15 Mangel wheels with the correct backset. Added a Speedster column drop, too.

Looks good- but then, I like how it looked with the first set as well. You are a stickler for detail!
Were the wheels originally on it 4½ or 5½" wide, and what size tires are you running?
Both sets are 4 1/2” wide. It’s the backspace that’s different. The tires are 165HR-15’s. I had to diddle with the clips, but here it is with hubcaps

Yeah, I understand how offset/backspacing changes the wheel positioning in the wheel well and either increases or decreases track. For a winter project you could take your rear wheels, have them widened 1" to the inside and then you could run 185...
