I just got 2 x 4.5 from Russ at Fibersteel. Larry is right - they don't make them any more. The 2 I got were steel ones to go with the 3 other 4.5. I still have 2 x 5.5 brand new still in the box, but they won't fit on my spyder as they hit the shockers! It would cost more to send them back than what they are worth!
The rims I have are the steel ones. I had a set of 4 chrome ones when I bought the car, but they were only the 4 stud pattern. I changed the car to disc brakes with the wide 5 stud. At this point I will hold onto the 5.5 as I might have a need for them on a 356 project. You can check out the progress of my spyder at

it is getting to the pointy end of the build - rewired this week, paint shop next week and then put it all back together!
Mangels officially dropped their steel wheels completely, not just the chrome plated versions as previously thought.
The tooling was picked up by a small Brazilian company called RodaBras.
They will only be producing them in a painted flat silver finish.
RodaBras is making more sizes and more offsets than Mangels did, but supply seems a bit slower...
There is also a Chinese company that contacted us recently and they are beginning production of the wide five and 4 lug steel wheels in chrome. Although their quality is yet to be seen, they have been manufacturing chrome plated steel wheels for semi trucks for many years. Hopefully they come through, as shipping out the painted steel wheels to be plated will be very expensive.
While we keep hundreds of these wheels in stock, we will no longer sell our chrome plated wheels. I have to keep these for our builds as long as I can. Painted wheels are always available.
