Hello,

I am wondering which Koni Shocks to install on my Vintage Speedster with super wide body - based on 1968 model year VW pan. No stabilizers yet. 4 disc brakes, EMPI shocks.

Is Koni 80-1787 front and Koni 80-1350 the correct combination ?

Or is there any input from the super wide body oweners with 17" wheels with different opinions or expertise ?

Thank you very much
Bjoern

Had ever dreamed of a super wide body....

Hello

seems I have to be more precise ;-)
It is a shortened 1968 VW pan with 4 disc brakes.

Front axle : Adjustable trailing arm, ( Kugelbolzen) and actually installed is shock absorber EMPI 9655 1916.
-> Do I need to have KONI 80-1787 or KONI 80-2275 ?

Rear axle is a swing axle (Pendelachse) and actually installed EMPI 9656 1904.
-> DO I need to have KONI 80-1350 or other for a VS Vintage speedster with super wide body ?

Thank you!
Boern

Dear Stan,

thanks for your reply. My question is not concerning TUV. It is a rather spongy driving and not really track keeping behaviour which I noticed. I am 62 yo - so I take it for cruising only and not for racing. Before I go for aligning of steering and road keeping after installing the new wheels and wide tyres I would prefer to upgrade the existing shocks with KONIs for the acutal weight of the speedster. If there is a difference for super wide body or not - I have no idea yet.
Do you recall yr Koni part numbers ?
