It would be interesting to hear from previous owners, or owners planning to sell, what there reason for selling was/is. Needed the money? Car didn't suit your needs? Car didn't meet your requirements (performance, etc.)? Couldn't find anyplace that would service the car? Car had too many problems (failures)? Disappointed (too noisy, too uncomfortable, wife didn't like it, etc.)? Selling one bought used to upgrade to a new replica built to your specs?

I'm just curious because I've had mine for a bit over a year and can't imagine circumstances that would cause me to sell it.

I've had my tub for 18 months and I'm going to sell it soon. Why? Two equal reasons:

1) I'm 6'5" and although it fits me enough to drive, it's not a comfortable driver for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. That and the low windscreen that I poke more than a little above if I'm sitting upright (my kids call it my "Stuart Little" car). The speedster was a passion purchase (as all cars should be). I knew of the cars size issue, but bought it anyhow as I was "in love".

2) With the slowing economy, I changed jobs within my company to stay employed. The end result is 30-50% travel for the foreseeable future. As a result, the speedster sits more than it's driven. Given I'm away so much, a lot of house maintenance isn't getting done either. So I figure I might as well free up the cash in the speedster to pay for someone to paint the house, repair the garage door damaged by a windstorm, etc.

Now, I've been saying I'd sell it soon since June, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Even if I do sell, I'm sure I'll be back at some point as I'd love to get an IM convertible D or even one of the later 356 coupes that handled us tall guys a little better.
