hi guys. I just joined the group. My dad used to be a member but he is too old to work on and care for the vintage speedster that he and I built from a rolling chassis about 20 years ago. Now that my kids are a little older I finally took ownership of the car and brought it back to South Carolina. I am finishing a few modifications that he had planned but never got around to. He bought a front and rear set of CB wide five disc brakes that I am getting ready to install. I have researched the site to see if the extra width will be a problem but haven't quite found a definitive answer. I will be using 185/60 -15 tires on 5.5 vintage 190s. Since these are Aluminum rims that cannot be modified I want to know if I need a narrowed front beam and if there is enough room in the back. The chassis is a 69 with ball joints and swing arms in the rear. I do realize the kit will drop the front 2.5". Any info would be appreciated.

Some of us here resemble that remark: "My dad used to be a member but he is too old to work on and care for the vintage speedster that he and I built from a rolling chassis about 20 years ago."   Old codgers are welcome!

I think the front won't be an issue - seems to be a lot of room there.  If you had IRS rear - I'd be seriously concerned.  Not so sure with swing axle.
