Truth Be Known: I like yours better, too!
in HS mid 60s i made 6 different shift knobs for my 63 VW, mostly cherry or walnut, didnt look quite as nice as urs..
@jncspyder where did you get your $80 shift knob? And does the wood match up well with the nardi-style wooden steering wheels?
@MarylandGuy i got that from some guy on ebay about 4 years ago while my car was being built...that's the best info i can provide...keep searching....i know the feeling..it is nice....i held it in my hand and GEEKED OUT over it for an hour after i first saw it in the flesh....as far the wooden steering wheel?...you be the judge

I assume @jncspyder picked his up from CG Autowood. Gentleman's name is Gary. Pretty sure he can't get way with selling them on ebay these days.
https://cgautowood.com/
Email/ call him. He is super helpful, will tell you what he has in stock, or make it for you
Gary CGwoodcraft <cgwoodcraft@aol.com>
his webpage appears to be down. Last i purchased a knob from him was 3/2020.
his eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.htm...utowood&_sacat=0
wonderful products/quality.
Looks like the Porsche/ VW police got to him via eBay.
just call or email him... he had the knobs available last I connected w/ him... just needs to know thread size/ spacing for your specific shifter (ex: M10 x 1.5) , weather you prefer a Porsche logo, gear pattern logo or no logo, and finish- matte or glossy. He is an artist.
he has some knobs w/ inlays as well, like our steering wheels.
and some 911/ late 356B flavored knobs also made by Gary.
he also does Piano Black...
you guessed it... I have installed these on my speedster, my old 356b, an early MG sprite, and a friends early 911.

Troy Sloan sells a shift knob, but I think it's resin instead of wood.
They did the knob for my coupe. Top quality.
http://classicowheels.com they also do shift knobs and wheels and hubs.
