I have an extra set of 1956 series California Plates (yellow with black letters, and an extra 1958 sticker for anyone that is interested. These were clear when last checked at DMV, and will be serviceable as far as DMV is concerned. However, there are a couple of white paint spots on one of the plates, so AFTER the number is accepted, I would recommend that these be sent to the Old License Plate Farm to be refinished, or do it yourself. I would refinish them and I even know how to get them into shape for painting; what I don't know how to do is get the paint tone perfectly, which is the most important thing. The pair that I currently have on my Roadster are quite beautiful, and they were refinished by the Old License Plate Farm.
