I have a 1977 build Intermeccanica Speedster. I was informed by IM that Autos International still has the pattern for the convertible roof from 1977 and it's a s simple as ordering one by specifying the build date of my car and whether it's a low or high bow. Has anyone purchased a roof recently for a 70's IM and does all the existing press stud location match on the car and new reproduction roof? Thanks for any information. Lastly, is my car a high or low bow roof?

Cheers,

Al

Back in June 2014 on Jay Leno's Garage, Jay interview a builder from Michigan by the name of Chuck Olenyk who had taken a rusted out 1957 Porsche coupe and converted it to a beautiful Speedster Outlaw.  One thing that Chuck did that really impressed me about his build was that he got a convertible top from Intermeccanica and customized it by having the top bow lowered in order to give the convertible top a much more streamlined 21st Century  style appearance.  Below are four photo's to give you a better idea how nice the top looks.

That is my favorite Speedster of all time. I have watched the episode of Leno's show featuring that car at least a half dozen times.

I wish I could get a closeup of the brackets Olenyk fabricated for the driving lights. He apparently used the existing bumper bracket openings. They appear to be stainless or aluminum. Anybody know?

I would also like to know what he mocked up to cover the bumper bracket openings on the back. I tried a couple of things but they didn't hold up.

Just a great car!!!
